Operations#

  • In the last week of September, we launched a new Members Account portal. This is an important step for the association, giving members a centralized, secure place to manage their membership, access exclusive resources, and stay up to date with the latest AIBD news and events.
  • The launch also included a new internal AIBD Community. This valuable addition gives members a dedicated space to connect, collaborate, and share knowledge with fellow building designers across the country. By fostering these conversations, we can strengthen the profession and help members grow their businesses together.
  • By proactively addressing Microsoft's retirement of Publisher, AIBD has ensured business continuity and protected 20 years' worth of critical documents. Converting all Publisher files to PDFs and recreating key certificates as DOCs lets the organization continue issuing membership, certification, and college of fellows certificates without interruption. Although we are five days into October and Publisher files are still opening for us, this approach minimizes disruption, safeguards important records, and keeps AIBD's operations running smoothly and unaffected by the software transition.
  • Another project this month involves cleaning up our "tags" in Kit, our email platform. By organizing tags for CPBDs, suspended CPBDs, candidates, and applicants, we can send more targeted and relevant communications to each group. This matters because it improves the effectiveness of our marketing emails and announcements, ensuring the right messages reach the right people—reducing noise, increasing engagement, and ultimately supporting better outcomes for recruitment and member communications.
