This post is more sophisticated than the previous one because it contains several correct observations, but then quietly narrows the meaning of "Kingdom of God" until it becomes only a present spiritual reality, which creates a different error.

Executive Summary#

UNN | 🚨 APOSTLE PAUL DEFINES HIS OWN WORDS: WHAT DOES "KINGDOM OF GOD" MEAN? 🚨| JUNE 2026 | LOR

What is correct?

βœ… Romans 14:17 defines real characteristics of the Kingdom of God.

βœ… Colossians 1:13 teaches believers have been translated into Christ's kingdom.

βœ… Philippians 3:20 teaches our citizenship is in heaven.

βœ… Ephesians 2:6 teaches believers are seated in heavenly places in Christ.

What is incorrect?

❌ Romans 14:17 is not a complete definition of everything Paul means by "Kingdom of God."

❌ Paul does not deny a future kingdom inheritance.

❌ Paul does not teach the Kingdom is ONLY present and spiritual.

❌ Acts 28:31 cannot be reduced to Romans 14:17 alone.

❌ Paul repeatedly speaks of entering, inheriting, and receiving the Kingdom in the future.

The Main Methodological Problem#

The article says:

"Let Paul define Paul."

Good principle.

But then it only allows Romans 14:17 to define the Kingdom.

That's not letting Paul define Paul.

That's letting one verse define all the others.

The proper method is:

Let ALL of Paul's kingdom passages define Paul's kingdom doctrine.

Romans 14:17 Context#

The article's key verse:

"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."

What is Paul discussing?

Food disputes.

Dietary disputes.

Christian liberty.

Paul is saying:

The Kingdom is not about arguing over food regulations.

The Kingdom concerns righteousness, peace, and joy in the Spirit.

Notice:

He is describing what characterizes the Kingdom.

He is not giving a complete theological definition of everything the Kingdom is.

Otherwise, we get absurd conclusions.

Romans 14:17 also doesn't mention:

  • Jesus
  • Resurrection
  • Eternal life
  • Inheritance
  • Glory
  • Judgment

Would we therefore conclude those are not part of the Kingdom?

Of course not.

The verse is contextual, not exhaustive.

Paul Teaches a Future Kingdom#

This is where the article's argument starts breaking down.

Paul repeatedly speaks of the Kingdom as future.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10#

"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?"

Notice:

inherit

Future language.

Not merely present possession.

Galatians 5:21#

"They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

Again:

inherit.

Future.

Ephesians 5:5#

"Hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God."

Future inheritance.

2 Timothy 4:18#

Near death Paul says:

"The Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom."

Future.

Not merely present.

Paul Holds Both Truths Together#

The article creates a false either/or.

Paul teaches:

Present Reality#

Colossians 1:13

Believers are already translated.

True.

Future Inheritance#

1 Corinthians 6

Galatians 5

Ephesians 5

2 Timothy 4

Also, true.

Biblical theology often works this way.

Already.

And not yet.

Acts 28:31 Context#

The article says:

Paul preached the Kingdom of God.

True.

But what Kingdom?

Look earlier.

Acts 28:23:

"persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets"

Notice:

Paul is connecting:

  • Moses
  • Prophets
  • Jesus
  • Kingdom

He is not separating Jesus from Israel's prophetic promises.

He is showing Jesus fulfills them.

The article creates a stronger separation than Paul himself does.

Colossians 1:13#

The article says:

Believers have already been translated into the kingdom.

Absolutely true.

But this does not eliminate future fulfillment.

Example:

We already have eternal life.

Yet we still await resurrection.

We already have salvation.

Yet we await glorification.

We already belong to Christ's Kingdom.

Yet we await its visible consummation.

Scripture teaches both.

Philippians 3:20#

The article says:

Our citizenship is in heaven.

Correct.

But notice what Paul says next.

"From whence also we look for the Saviour"

Why?

Because Christ is returning.

Paul is not teaching permanent disembodied heavenly existence.

He is teaching expectation of Christ's return and bodily transformation.

Ephesians 2:6#

"Made us sit together in heavenly places"

True.

But Ephesians never says:

"Therefore, there is no future kingdom."

That's imported into the text.

Paul is describing spiritual position.

Not eliminating future realities.

The Hidden Assumption#

The argument quietly assumes:

Heavenly = not earthly

But Scripture often joins both.

Consider:

Matthew 6#

"Thy kingdom come."

Where?

"On earth."

Revelation 11:15#

"The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord."

Revelation 21#

Heaven and earth united.

God dwelling with men.

The Bible ends with heaven and earth joined together.

Not permanently separated.

Psychological Analysis#

The persuasive technique being used is called:

Reductionism#

Take a large doctrine.

Reduce it to one defining verse.

Filter all other passages through that verse.

Ignore passages that expand the doctrine.

Example:

Kingdom = Romans 14:17 only.

Then:

Acts 28 must fit Romans 14.

1 Corinthians 6 must fit Romans 14.

2 Timothy 4 must fit Romans 14.

Everything becomes squeezed into a smaller framework.

The problem is that Paul's own writings are broader than the framework.

What Paul Actually Teaches#

A balanced summary would be:

Paul teaches the Kingdom of God is:

  1. A present spiritual reality.
    • Righteousness
    • Peace
    • Joy in the Holy Ghost
  2. A present position believers already possess.
    • Colossians 1:13
  3. A future inheritance.
    • 1 Corinthians 6:9
    • Galatians 5:21
    • Ephesians 5:5
  4. A future heavenly kingdom.
    • 2 Timothy 4:18
  5. Connected to Christ's return and final reign.

Paul never reduces the Kingdom to merely present spiritual experience.

Nor does he reduce it to merely an earthly political kingdom.

He teaches both present participation and future inheritance.

So, the strongest correction to the article is:

Romans 14:17 tells us what characterizes the Kingdom of God; it does not exhaustively define everything the Kingdom of God is.

That distinction is where the entire argument stands or falls.

Soli Deo Gloria.
