Harrison's article is a primary source for Harrison's model. It cannot prove its own premises merely by stating them.

A DMT survey is excellent evidence for what surveyed users reported and believed. It is not direct detection of an external DMT realm.

A controlled neuroimaging experiment is evidence concerning brain effects under defined conditions.

CERN is useful for explaining what high-energy physicists mean by extra-dimensional collider signatures.

A philosophy encyclopedia is appropriate for mapping live positions concerning eternalism or many-worlds.

Historical scholarship can establish that Theosophists linked the fourth dimension with the astral plane.

The King James Bible is the primary textual source for the biblical claims under examination.

Keeping these functions separate prevents citation laundering—the practice, intentional or accidental, of using a real source to support a claim the source never actually establishes.

52. What the Thread Gets Right#

A fair conclusion should preserve what is genuinely useful.

The thread is right that ordinary intuition does not exhaust modern physics.

It is right that spacetime is commonly treated as four-dimensional.

It is right that perception involves representation rather than a transparent, unmediated copy of the external world.

It is right to bring eternalism into philosophical discussions of time.

It is right that higher spatial dimensions occur in serious theoretical physics.

It is right that M-theory has an eleven-dimensional formulation associated with extended objects known as branes.

It is right that DMT can produce extraordinary alterations of experience.

It is right that consciousness, quantum gravity, and the nature of time contain major open questions.

And from a biblical perspective, it is right in the very broad sense that reality is not limited to what unaided human eyesight can see. Scripture explicitly speaks of heavenly and spiritual reality.

Those truths are enough to make the subject genuinely fascinating.

We do not need to inflate them.

vanishing objects move from “here and now” into “here and then”;

a four-dimensional organism has been observed;

DMT objectively transports consciousness into higher-dimensional space;

DMT entities have been independently demonstrated to exist outside experiencers;

telepathy travels through a measured fifth-dimensional field;

human minds have been experimentally shown to be projections of a larger Platonic mind;

personal decisions create accessible secondary time dimensions;

people can intentionally align themselves with preferred quantum timelines;

the universe alters legislation or institutions to prevent timeline shifts;

strings are containers holding compactified dimensions;

particle colliders seek literal strings poking between neighboring branes;

the astral plane has been identified with a physical fourth dimension;

Arrival depicts an experimentally grounded mechanism;

quantum gravity has established that time is simply an illusion;

biblical heaven is hyperspace;

biblical spiritual powers are higher-dimensional organisms;

or the Bride of Christ is a fifth dimension.

That is a large difference between interesting speculation and supported conclusion.

54. A Reusable Discernment Framework#

The thread gives us a useful procedure for future claims. When confronted with an extraordinary scientific, occult, psychological, or theological proposition, ask:

1. What exactly is being claimed?
   Rewrite it in plain language.
2. What kind of claim is it?
   Mathematical, physical, psychological, historical, metaphysical, theological, or biblical?
3. What evidence is actually offered?
   Observation, experiment, equation, anecdote, testimony, analogy, Scripture, fiction?
4. Does the evidence belong to the same category as the conclusion?
5. Could the claim be wrong?
   What observation would count against it?
6. Is a model being mistaken for a measurement?
7. Is a subjective experience being mistaken for independently verified external reality?
8. Is a metaphor being turned into ontology?
9. Is technical vocabulary carrying more argumentative weight than the evidence?
10. Does the cited source actually say what the writer says it says?
11. If Scripture is invoked, what does the passage say in context before modern concepts are introduced?
12. Would we accept the same reasoning if it supported the opposite conclusion?
13. What level of certainty is justified: established, plausible, open, speculative, or unsupported?
14. Can we preserve what is true without preserving the unsupported leap?

That final question is especially important.

Discernment is not the art of saying “no.”

It is the art of separating what survives examination from what does not.

55. Limitations#

This investigation does not prove that no extra spatial dimensions exist.

It does not prove that consciousness has been exhaustively explained.

It does not prove that every paranormal claim is impossible.

It does not prove that every DMT experience is ontologically meaningless.

Extra dimensions really are studied in theoretical physics. But they have not thereby become the astral plane.

DMT really does produce profound altered states. But intensity does not identify ontology.

Equations really can describe a five-dimensional field. But a defined variable is not a detected field.

Quantum gravity really does contain a problem of time. But an active research problem is not a scientific verdict that time is an illusion.

Scripture really does affirm unseen spiritual realities. But Scripture never calls them fourth-dimensional.

Scripture really does employ the Bride of Christ as profound covenantal and eschatological imagery. But it never calls the Bride the fifth dimension.

And this last distinction may be the most important for a Christian reader.

There is no need to make Scripture more impressive by attaching modern scientific terminology to it.

Nor is there any need to fear legitimate science because an occult writer borrows its vocabulary.

Truth does not require category confusion.

The biblical model is quieter and more demanding.

The Bereans received teaching “with all readiness of mind,” but they also “searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

Paul tells the Thessalonians:

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”

That combination is the proper answer to the thread.

Readiness without gullibility.

Curiosity without credulity.

Skepticism without mockery.

Science without scientism.

Spiritual seriousness without occult speculation.

The task is not merely to expose error.
